Terrific Choice over More Expensive Options

I have owned 4 different brands of compact condenser dryers over the years and this is one of the very best. The cycles and heat settings work well, there is a damp setting that™€™s great for ironing, and the dryer turns itself off when the cycle is finished. GE has really upped its game with this set which is why I can recommend it. The sole complaint is that the dryer doesn™€™t reverse so sheets tend to ball up but I™€™ve had them ball even in a dryer that does reverse. The set is stacked and well designed. I chose it over a brand I had owned before because of the good price and I could not have done better. My set is stacked in a closet and the compact size is perfect for me. I do 6 to 7 loads per week but they are relatively small loads so the compact size is suitable. Both washer and dryer handle my lightweight queen blankets very well.

The dryer is a godsend! It fits more clothes per drying cycle AND it does not require multiple cycles to truly dry the clothes. Great design, too. The owner's manual is also very helpful. It's too soon to tell (we've only had the machine for 3 weeks), but we're hoping the electricity usage will also be lower than that with our old dryer. Thank you for a great prduct!

Condenser Drying Works!

I wasn't sure about this dryer but after using it I love it. So many cycles to choose from. We live in a dry climate so the condenser adds moisture to the air. We empty the water it collects into a container to water the plants with. It's in the kitchen and it seems to be pretty quiet. I have loaded it with bedding and regular loads and it is plenty big.

Burning smell from dryer unresolved

Dryer was purchased 2/2024. From the very start it had a burning smell and pieces of burnt lint; found in the lint trap and dryer drum. This is a fire hazard and it also burnt a hole in the dryer mesh lint trap. A service technician came to inspect the dryer and said that the burning was caused by the heating element on the back of the dryer. The technician placed an order for the heating element and returned a second time to replace the heating element. The dryer was okay for a little while and then the burning smell started again. We've been cleaning the lint trap twice per drying cycle and also cleaning the condenser every two weeks. However, that doesn't get rid of the burning smell. We're constantly having to find ways to remove lint that is trapped in the back wall of the dryer. This is only a temporary fix because after a few loads of drying, the lint builds up and the burning smell comes up again. It's hard to believe that no one else has had this issue. We're thinking that we have a "lemon". Due to unforeseen circumstances in our lives, we weren't able to call the service technician after the second visit and the warranty period has already lapsed. We just tried calling GE customer service and they said that they don't have a servicer in Hawaii. We've only had the dryer for less than two years. The dryer needs to be replaced rather than investing money out-of-pocket for repairs that may never solve the problem. Now, the water is pooling behind the condenser and is causing our clothes to not dry properly and leaves a musty smell on the clothes. Very, very disappointed in this dryer. Unfortunately, this site is not allowing us to add pictures... if someone from GE customer service could follow-up with us, we can provide pictures.

My expectations were low for this dryer, but I was pleasantly surprised. I live in a dry climate, that might help. Also I use the drain pipe instead of the tank, that's way more convenient. I use dryer balls to help the drying process and generally have mixed loads as I live alone and don't ever have a whole load of towels, etc. I usually do a timed cycle of 50 minutes for larger loads and 40 minutes for smaller loads. I think I'll try the sensor drying features next. I know when my electric company charges more for electricity, so I avoid those times with the delay feature. Better than I expected.

We needed a smaller dryer to fit our space. The ventless feature means it fit in the closet with no modifications needed. Happy with how it works and dries clothes though recommend doing laundry in small loads. There are a lot of special cycle options (e.g., towels, rack dry, dewrinkle) along with the usual ones. It is pretty quiet. Empyting the the water tank, cleaning lint filter are simple enough to do. We've never let the water tank fill up though I don't think it would be too heavy. It is short, height-wise, as another reviewer mentioned. We bought a shelf so it is at regular height. The dryer is not heavy so if you need assistance putting it on a shelf and have a neighbor or family member around, they can put it on shelf (18" tall). I put it up on the shelf myself. Very happy with the purchase.

Frustrated with the Dryer Riser

I purchased the washer and dryer at the same time. They are sitting in a side-by-side fashion. I also ordered the 4-inch riser accessory for each unit because it was shown as an accessory option in each online unit description. I double-checked this as well but upon delivery and installation, I was told that the dryer riser is not compatible with any of the screw holes on the dryer. Is that correct? The dryer is 23' 7/16th wide and the riser says 24' but it's on the accessory list for the unit and the model numbers match up. Can someone help me ?

We love this space saving machine. Ours has the drain hose so that we don™€™t ever need to empty the reservoir. Drying time is not as long as we would™€™ve thought. We keep our loads about medium and have not yet had to repeat a drying cycle.

This is my first ventless dryer and I love it. Sits in kitchen in my apartment, the slim design is a space save. I was a bit concerned about load capacity but it accommodate my King sized sheets and thin blanket just fine. It dries in much shorter time (rarely do I run it more than 50mins) than my friend™€™s new ventless which requires at least 90 mins to dry. Even loads with blankets and towels do not require more time. Unit is very quiet and has a pleasant reminder tune when cycle finishes. My electric bill has not increased noticeably so unit is appropriately energy efficient. The unit™€™s water tank is very easy to empty, (which I do after every load) and shows no signs of mildew which is a problem for my friend™€™s unit (she lives in the same bldg and Apt line I do, so identical weather and conditions). I also love the way the W/D stacks for additional space saving. They are very speak and modern looking. I love this product.

Garbage. The door latch was rubbing on base because the door sit slightly too low. No way to tighten it or lift it. It™€™s a defect in the model. Trying ti replace the part on an appliance that is garbage. Good luck with that.

Had to reverse the door and had a devil of a time with removing one of the bolts. Had no clue it was so low. We are using it as a side by side so I had to spend more money getting an appliance base stand to increase its height. Wanted to hook up the condensation pipe and run it to the stand pipe. Unfortunately it™€™s only four feet long so I had to spend more money ordering a longer hose that I am hoping I can rig up to the dryer. Don™€™t know how it dries as I am trying to get it all fixed up before using. Very disappointed with all the problems I am having to solve with this machine.
